Old to Gold Eco Craft Workshop

Last Saturday, May 19, 2012, was unlike my usual Saturday afternoon (which is wake up, eat, bathe, pc, tv, pc, eat, sleep).

It was a blast!

Thanks to Brown Bag Events Management, Pinwheel and Cha Dao Tea Place :)

So what happened?

Nah, just learned how to make use of old clothes then transform them into rocking accessories! :))

Ms. Nori, was our amazing and really creative instructor.

We started with introduction of ourselves, what we usually do and some stuffs about our lives.
Then each of us were given our craft kits and a polo shirt.

Here’s our super cute craft kit. It contained a bow headband, a piece of cutter and some sewing materials.

We were to create collar neckalces and hand cuffs that day :)
Here’s a sample Ms. Nori has prepared.( cute noh? )

She explained and instructed us how to start working on our own collar necklaces and cuffs. We did the collar necklaces first with her assistance and guidance. Open to entertaining questions and even putting the threads in the needle. HAHA!

And of course we had yummy milk tea and cookies from Cha Dao Tea Place!

We all worked by ourselves, trying to release the artsy-fartsy within us. Hahaha. See, each of us were really so focused! :p

After hours of hard work I present to you my creation!

It’s really fun to get out of your house, mingle and learn new stuffs especially when you’re recovering from a heartbreak like me! HAHA.

The workshop was really fun! Very eco-friendly.
Now, the piled-up clothes in our cabinet will have a new reason for existence :)

Ellips Summer U Scent Workshop

I was really lucky to be part of Ellips’ Summer U Scent Institute last Wednesday (May 9, 2012).

Not known to everyone that Ellips has been having workshops for teens since last year! They offer workshops for free that cover activities which teenagers of this generation are very much interested in.
This summer they have conducted a Surfing Class, Travel Photography Class and a Make-up Class.

This other class they provided is connected in their industry, the Basic Fragrance Communication Workshop and I was really excited for this though I wasn’t really into Perfumery before :p
Brought my sister with me to this workshop.

The first half of the workshop included a lecture where History of Fragrance, its categories, value and methods of preparation were discussed. Also, in the first half of the workshop we were given samples of the different fragrance families.

Then we had our lunch break which was also provided by Ellips.
We ate yummy and delicious foods from Amici :)

After eating we decided to take pictures of ourselves. HAHAHA!

The second half of the workshop was more of the hands-on activity.
Really fun and we were given two challenges, first, based on what we’ve learned earlier that day about the elements of fragrances, we are to copy one perfume, J’adore (which they have provided in strips for us to smell) using three ingredients, the Fleur, Fond and Fruit. The one who creates the perfume nearest to how J’adore smells will be the winner!

The second challenge was to make our own fragrance using the same 3 products :)
Now, what a dream come true! To make your own fragrance and name it! HAHA!

The winner for this challenge would be the one who has created the fragrance that smells the best :)
